Mediterrania Capital Partners, a Private Equity firm focused on growth investments for SMEs and mid-cap companies in North Africa and Sub-Saharan countries, announces that Hatim Ben Ahmed, Managing Partner at Mediterrania Capital Partners, has been appointed President of the Moroccan Private Equity Association (AMIC), succeeding Tarik Haddi in this role.
Speaking of his appointment, Hatim Ben Ahmed said, “I would like to thank the members of AMIC’s Board of Directors for electing me President of our association. Their trust in me is both an honour and a pleasant obligation. We are living in particularly complicated economic times, and Private Equity must play a bigger role in assisting Moroccan entrepreneurs than ever before. The role of our association is to promote our activity to the entire ecosystem and so actively help revitalise our economy. I sincerely believe that Morocco has everything it needs to lead the continent in investment capital penetration, and I will strive to help our country to do so throughout my mandate. I applaud Tarik Haddi’s remarkable achievements as President of AMIC over the past two years in strengthening AMIC’s influence with entrepreneurs, public authorities, and bodies representing companies, investors and fund managers.”
As the new president, Hatim plans to continue AMIC’s efforts, which have already supported more than 240 companies and raised nearly 23.6 billion dirhams to finance companies and infrastructure projects with a positive impact on both growth and ESG during the last 20 years.
